分子生物研究室 Molecular Biology Division
見えない脅威から馬産業を守る!
分子生物研究室では、馬のさまざまなウイルス性疾患を対象に、疫学調査、診断法の開発、予防や治療に関する研究を行っています。とりわけ、馬産業に大きな被害を与える馬インフルエンザとウマヘルペスウイルス1型感染症(馬鼻肺炎)の防あつに直結する研究に精力的に取り組んでいます。そのほかの研究対象としては、子馬の主な下痢症の原因である馬ロタウイルス感染症や、馬コロナウイルス感染症、ゲタウイルス感染症などが挙げられます。また、当研究室は2021年6月より、馬インフルエンザのOIEリファレンスラボラトリーに指定されています。
The Molecular Biology Division has been conducting epidemiological studies, development of diagnostic methods, and research on prevention and treatment of various viral diseases of horses. In particular, we are actively engaged in research directly related to the prevention of equine influenza and equine herpesvirus type 1 infection (equine rhinopneumonitis), which cause significant damage to the horse industry. Other research targets include equine rotavirus infection, which is the main cause of diarrhea in foals, equine coronavirus infection, and Getah virus infection. In addition, the laboratory has been designated as an OIE Reference Laboratory for equine influenza since June 2021.
